Sam is a senior graduate student in the Lichtarge lab, working toward a PhD in Pharmacology.  He received his BS in Biology with a Concentration in Pharmacology from Duke University in 2009.  His research applies techniques commonly used in online recommender systems to the fields of drug repurposing and precision medicine.  He seeks to computationally harness large bodies of biomedical knowledge to find connections and suggest potential therapeutic candidates that might not have been considered.
